Funeral donations

When they die, many individuals or their relatives prefer to arrange for a donation to be made to good cause instead of having flowers at the funeral. By doing this, they signal their own wishes and aim to shape the continuation of their ideals, even after they have gone.

Your contact details

We would be extremely grateful if you could include the Swiss School for Guide Dogs for the Blind Allschwil in the funeral provisions in your will and thus support the training of our dogs. We would be happy to send you some QR paying-in slips by post or by email to help in making donations “in sympathy”. These slips would be marked with the relevant payment description (funeral donation for first name, family name).

Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements in this respect. Either Nadine Burla or Danijela Juric will be very happy to advise you: 061 487 95 95, info@blindenhundeschule.ch

There are three different ways in which you might arrange to make donations when a bereavement occurs.

1. A note on the announcement of the death

Many individuals or relatives of a person who has died prefer to arrange for a donation to be made to the School for Guide Dogs for the Blind instead of sending flowers. If you would like us to help you with this request, please let us know the name of the person who has died and the address of the bereaved family, either by telephone or by email, at: 061 487 95 95, info@blindenhundeschule.ch

In the death notice, please provide the details of our donations account and the relevant IBAN number, as shown in the following examples:

  • «In accordance with the wishes of the deceased, we would be grateful for donations instead of flowers, addressed to the Swiss School for Guide Dogs for the Blind Allschwil, donation account PC 40-1275-0/IBAN: CH47 0900 0000 4000 1275 0, account reference: Maria Muster».
  • «In accordance with the wishes of the deceased, we would be grateful for your support for the Swiss School for Guide Dogs for the Blind Allschwil, donation account PC 40-1275-0/IBAN: CH47 0900 0000 4000 1275 0, account reference: Maria Muster».

We send our thanks personally for each individual funeral donation. After one to two weeks, the bereaved family will be sent a list of those who have made a donation in memory of the person who has died (i.e. only quoting the total value of the funeral donations, though information about individual donations will be available on request). It will therefore be possible for you to express your thanks in person.

2. Donation in memory

Make a donation to the benefit of the Swiss School for Guide Dogs for the Blind Allschwil at the request of the person who has died. In this case, please include the first name and family name of the deceased and the address of the bereaved family when you make the payment. The bereaved family will be provided with a list of all those people who made a donation in memory of the deceased, allowing them to express their thanks in person to those who have donated.

3. The collection at the funeral service

At the request of the person who has died, the collection at the funeral service can be used for the benefit of the Swiss School for Guide Dogs for the Blind Allschwil. Please discuss this possibility with the priest or pastor leading the service. The church authorities will transfer the amount collected into our donation account PC 40-1275-0 / IBAN: CH47 0900 0000 4000 1275 0 with an explanatory note.
