Expansion of the Management Board — Sven Bürgin appointed Head of Training

On 9 May 2026, the Board of Trustees decided to expand the Management Board of the Foundation Swiss School for Guide Dogs for the Blind by adding a third member. In future, the three areas of Administration, Breeding and Training will each be represented in the Management Board by a responsible person.

As of 1 June 2026, Sven Bürgin has taken over responsibility for the Training department from Ugo Sprecher. Sven Bürgin has been working at our school since 2024 as Team Leader Training. With 16 years of experience as a guide dog instructor, he brings extensive professional expertise in this field. As a recognised specialist, he is committed both to the training of apprentices and to the further development of modern training approaches, combining proven and innovative methods. In addition, Sven Bürgin is a member of the Quality Assurance Commission of the Swiss Guide Dog Instructors Association. We are convinced that his experience and broad expertise will make an important contribution to maintaining and further developing quality standards in the guide dog sector. Sven Bürgin therefore joins the Management Board alongside Ugo Sprecher (Breeding department) and Gérard Guye (Managing Director, Administration department).
